Ok thanks for explaining, now I get it. But balancing a camera in your rig really helps and a zoomlens put at 50mm doesn't have more critical focussing than a 50mm prime, on the contrary, zoomlenses are usually slower (smaller aperture) than primes so your DOF is larger. And I've been shooting with DSLR video for 2 years now, including the AF100 but went back to the tiny cute GH2 and sometimes the 7D. I don't only use DSLR for shallow DOF but also for other advantages in image quality. I don't agree that the EX1 has the same quality, but in the end it's a matter of taste. It's just great that us camera people are getting a wide range of camera types to choose from and that camera's are getting relatively cheaper. My first Hi8 cam was more expensive than an FS100, editing was a pain the ass (had to rent Betacam editing suites because home editing on S-VHS really produced a crap mastertape) and even edited on Betacam I can't look at the footage anymore without getting dizzy

Wish porn models evolved as fast as cameras do!
