you can create this same affect with a standard video camera that has a face detection/tracking feature. i use a Canon Vixia HF S200 and when i want to create this affect i just touch the screen where the subject is and it will blur the background. if something comes into the background that i want to focus on, i just touch the screen where the subject is and it comes into focus and blurs out the first (closer) subject.
