Last time Minnesota Congresswoman/presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was in Phoenix, she told reporters she plans to target Arizona in her bid to become the Republican nominee for president.
It appears she wasn't kidding -- Bachmann will be back in the Grand Canyon State on Monday to meet with members of the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Republican Senate Caucus announced today.
According to caucus spokesman Mike Philipsen, Bachmann will meet with legislators about Senator Steve Smith's border fence initiative, and other illegal immigration-related issues.
"Bachmann is a strong supporter of border security and asked for a meeting to learn more about [Smith's plan] and border enforcement in general," Philipsen says.
Following her meeting with legislators, Bachmann will hold a press conference at the State Capitol, which will hopefully be a little lengthier than the three minutes she spent with reporters last time she was in town.
Also at the press conference will be Senate President Russell Pearce, Smith, Congressman Trent Franks, and Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever.
Also in town Monday will be Herman Cain, one of Bachmann's opponents in the GOP presidential primary.
Cain, as Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio blurted earlier this week, will be in the Valley to try and win the support of America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff."
Arpaio spokesman Justin Griffin told New Times on Tuesday that the sheriff and Cain will likely hold a press conference following their meeting.
