For all of the bad things Gadaffi did, Lybia was still one of the most "advanced" middle eastern countries in regards to many things such as womens rights and was also one of the more "western" counties in its outlook. Already there have been reports that many areas are now becoming more extreme muslim. Lybia could well become an own goal for human rights.
