They should be in charge of national defense, that is what the federal governments main areas of responsibility. I don't agree with the foreign wars, but I definitely believe in keeping Nukes. They kept WWIII from happening.

Again that is mostly a state responsibility, not federal. Federal law enforcement should be reduced, and drugs should all be legal.

Trade unions have huge rights in most states, and the federal government puts no restrictions on them, in fact, they have more political rights that individuals do. In some states they have passed laws that workers cannot be forced to join a union in order to work for any company that they want (they are called right-to-work states), and if you think that allowing someone to decide that they DON'T want to join a union in order to work somewhere is a restriction, then I don't know what to do about that.

The only reason that NASA was funded was because it was the cold war and it was felt to be important defensively speaking.... maybe it was. I'm not sure.

If the government hadn't done it, someone else would have, and probably would have done it better... oh and again, it was part of the Department of Defense

Thats some weird thinking you got over there....

I understand that you have lived in a grey little socialist world over there for the few years you have been on the planet, I lived there myself for 4 years back in the early 80s, doing my "O" levels and "A" levels.... So I realize that you have not been exposed to any other school of thought but the one that thinks that giving more power to a group of people that have the legal right to use force to impose their decisions on you is a good idea.... Have you ever read Frederic Bastiat? Or Ludwig von Mises? You should give them a try sometime.
Here is a thought from Bastiat... "If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? "
