I'm not sure how you could get people from all over the country who don't know or care to know each other to answer "Herman Cain" when asked who they are going to vote for in a poll.
I'm like most people...I think he's the latest in the "anyone but Romney" sweepstakes for the religious right.
But in the end...it will be Romney. And if unemployment stays the way it is or worsens? It will be President Romney.
But no, I don't think being a Republican makes you a "racist" in any way.
I'm a fiscal conservative and go along with a lot of what Republicans say about taxes and size of govt. I'm definitely no racist.
I see zero equivalent between fiscal conservatism and racism. I also don't see much to link average ordinary people who are republicans and religious (just "normal" Baptists and Methodists...not the extreme nutcases) to racism.
From what I've seen in my time...racism is going away in this country. Yeah, it's still around. But it's definitely at an all time low. And I don't see where the Republican Party has been as racist as the Dems were through most of history.
Anybody remember George Wallace (a Democrat) or Sen. Robert Byrd of Virginia (Democrat and Klu Klux Klan member) And weren't Dems in control of the govt. most of the time since the Civil War...and not until Lyndon Johnson did one of them actually DO anything for civil rights?
I think it's wise to take each person individually. To keep lumping all Dems or Repubs as the same is fucking dumb.
