They weren't protesting shipping companies... they were trying to get a general strike to take place so more people would notice the cause, which did work, 1000's of people joined them.
Btw, they didn't just protest the port, that was the end of the march, along the way they did the same thing to about a dozen banks and other major corps in the area.

Once again you are confusing your opinion with facts. The 1% is a much larger group than the handful(.0000001%) of people that benefited from the obama stimulus and bailouts.
