Differences in fuel prices are mostly due to taxes. If you consider how insanely difficult it is to drill in the middle of oceans, make drills go sideways through 100s of feet of rock, transport it and refine it, etc... it's pretty amazing how low the price is. Cheaper than milk actually. the average profit is about 9 cents per gallon Meanwhile, governments, who do NOTHiNG it earn it, add a huge amount to the prices. With few exceptions, (e.g. The middle east), the biggest single cost in the proccess is taxes
