It's a pretty boring one, and I don't want to distract from the thread, but they did a contract extension with me through the required written notification, then changed their minds and backed out, never paying a dime. I geared up to service the contract, and I paid my vendors regardless of Playboy's decisions. No one got screwed on my end, I made sure of it.
From the beginning of the negotiation with Lensman, it was supposed to be $5k/month plus $5k/mo in advertising on GFY. That extra $5k never made it into the final deal, and when they agreed to the year extension (after doing a 9-month extension previously, which they paid), I had no reason to doubt them. Then a VP came waddling in and blathered on about not renewing, not paying for the months I provided service without a contract, etc.
They paid late a lot of the time anyway. But it was neat seeing a Heffner's signature on the checks:
Anyway, water under the bridge. They were in a very bad financial situation, and I had/have friends there, so I accepted a private apology and wrote it off as bad debt. At least they acknowledged it, apologized for it, and have said good things to new clients on my behalf. GTS, on the other hand ... is another story.
