While I wouldn't mind $38k and think it's a good chunk of money I can see why he might have let it go. Owed money, regardless of amount, can drive one mad. If you don't get paid and told you are going to, you can begin to dwell on it and think of all the "what ifs?" I've had this happen to me on a much smaller amount and am still having trouble letting it go.

The thing is, the person that owed the money doesn't give a shit. So you drive yourself mad thinking about it while the other person is living life like normal. So here you are filing all this court bullshit, consumed with only the possibility of getting your money back when you could be doing more constructive things with the time.

I'm not siding with one or another, I'm just talking about the stance on money owed and that it can suck either way you go.

And Sleazy is very right about Canadian companies. You don't fuck over employees in Canada, they always get their money.
