Conservatives are more relevant to our national debate now than at any time since I was born (more than 40 years). It is a mistake to interpret a momentary lull as an indication that the movement is dead. The next thing you know... you turn your back to a sucker punch. Just the Evangelical movement (which is a huge segment of the Conservative movement) alone is a HUGE amount of people and money... and they are very much alive.

All signs point to the Republican Party going extinct in the next 10 years or so. Of course it will still exist, but will be utterly void of power...Every time they are handed the keys to drive the nation, or even a state, they run amok like drunk teenagers with daddy's car.
The Republican Party of today is a whole new breed of racist and dumbed down evil. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of the filthy greed merchants on Wall Street and the Koch Brothers... and poor, reactionary, hate filled racist and bigoted whites and Evangelical Christians are their pawns that they manipulate to act against their own best interests.
Each time they get any power they abuse it so drastically that it causes people to wake up and go HOLD UP, NOT SO FAST... Look at Scott Walker and John Kasich (new Republicunt Gov's) They will both be recalled soon and their agendas are being voted down by EVEN moderate conservatives. Look at AZ's Russell Pearce (the most powerful man in AZ who fathered the "Papers Please" Bill) He was just recalled and booted out of office.. IN ARIZONA one of the most right-wing states in the US...
The Republicans pandering to the far right extremists will be their undoing... I say let them win the White House, Senate, and House in 2012. Let them repeal Roe v Wade and make women criminals who don't allow old white men to control their uterus' - we are witnessing the last gasps of a dying Party, it's all over but the cryin Republicunts.
