So I applied for a few xxx domains in Sunrise AD and asked them why they didn't stick with their promise to let me know the outcome before Nov 8 and got this reply:
"all Sunrise applicants will be made aware of the status of their applications on or before December 6th. There was an exceptionally large number of applications received and not all have finished processing yet."
December 6th is also the date on which Landrush ends en general availability starts.
So why would they want to extend the decisions on Sunrise till the end of Landrush?
Why o why?
Simple...
They want to make the domains that were applied for during Sunrise and should be reserved by now, look as "available" to people applying for the same domains in Landrush.
I checked on Bulkregister and you can still apply for any xxx domain, never will you get something like a "already taken" or "not available" message.
I tried a few of the domains I applied for myself and that should be rewarded to me because I'm the only person owning them as TLD domains already. I can apply
(and pay) for any of them. It's even still possible to apply
(and pay) for gay.xxx
They're lying about other things as well. I needed their support after the registrar did something wrong during the Sunrise process and the answer I got from ICM support totally conflicts with what they state in their own policy and terms as published on their site.
The whole xxx thing is really cool but ICM isn't,they are deceiving people on purpose only to get as much as possible money of of this.
GREED is the word again. Why does this biz attract so much scumbags?
IF they stick with their Sunrise policy I don't have much to worry about, those domains I applied for should be given to me. But I feel sorry for the people who are going to pay for the landrush thing now, and are not getting informed honestly about the availability of the domains they are after.
My advice to everyone: wait for the general availability period. By then they won't charge the
non-refundable application fee anymore so you can't get screwed by them financially. I'm almost sure that the price for xxx domains will drop very soon and fast.
