I've met hundreds of girls via online dating over the years. The first big site, at least in NYC, was Matchmaker back in 2000. I remember thinking about just how amazingly efficient it was to put up a profile that would work for me during the day while I was at work. After MM started getting lame, Nerve was good for awhile and then jdate. I'm not Jewish, but it was popular in NYC for a bit (
see NYT article). Craigslist has also been a constant source since 2001, but the ratio started getting out of whack about 3 or so years ago. Still doesn't hurt do a posting every now and then, though.
