Umm yea it's pretty obvious the cops went to where the protestors were to remove them. You think the protestors decided to go there "after" the cops showed up?
The crowd didn't move in and surround the officers until after they sprayed the students with pepper spray and started hand cuffing them. The crowd only moved in and ran the cops off after they used excessive and unnecessary force.
So yea there is a lot of spin going on..
