Everyone understands that radical Islam got worse after 9/11 and I was in Moscow while this was happening. That also has nothing to do with Russia being humiliated in Chechnya in 2 wars where their entire military might was brought to bear on the nation and still took 2 wars and 1/2 a decade of fighting to only gain some control.
Further, people can compare it to Afghanistan. NATO/US are not surrounding capital cities like Grozny leveling the entire city with artillery either.
It was years of this below... that allowed Russia to finally gain control of Chechnya again... not great military skill and advanced weapons and tactics.

Yes they are. Radical Islam didn't get worse after 9/11, what happened was Americans went to their homes and tried to kill them there. That's where the violence came from, it wasn't from radical Islam. It wouldn't have mattered if those people were atheists, Christians or Jews, they all would have reacted in the same way.

And the US is still fighting in Afghanistan. Don't pretend like Americans are somehow tougher than the Russians, Russia would wipe its ass with America in a land war, your average American soldier is a little bitch when you compare him with your average Russian soldier.
