Hey Thunderballs - happy thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving. In the other thread I took one of your comments a little personally but I'm sure you didn't mean it that way. You just feel strongly about drug laws and that spills over to a dislike for anyone who is sworn to uphold the laws as written. No hard feelings.

Thinking about your crazy neighbor coming over with the gun, my dad would have been the first to rush to your aid had you needed it, and now I would. My dad lost his life from volunteering to take fire to protect you and I, so perhaps you can understand why I got a little emotional when you said people who do so are cowards for it. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving. Toke one up for me. I had to stop a few years back.

Perhaps as you enjoy your holiday, you may consider that just as soldiers volunteer to protect you, without any choice of when or where, so to do the good people in law enforcement and security volunteer to put themselves out there to protect you, whether or not they agree with any one of the thousands of laws. Work to change the drug laws if you wish. Some of my writings I wrote for NORML back in the early 1990s may be helpful. Think about the difference between politics, debating what one law should be, and spitting on the guy who volunteers to put himself between you and your gun toting neighbor though, please. This Thanksgiving his family is thankful if he makes it home.
