True, the Kinks can't be defined as metal. But in 1964 "You Really Got Me" and "All Day and All of the Night" sure must have sounded like the equivalent of metal for the time - especially when
compared to the other songs being put out that year. Those two songs pioneered the hard rock era that led to heavy metal.
