Couple issues I have with this story...
1) How do you blow something out of the sky and leave it with minimal damage? Those things fly pretty high, particularly to avoid detection. The crash alone would cause some heavy damage. Then factor in the projectile that was shot at the drone to bring it down.
2) We do plenty of stupid things, but I can only imagine that a spy drone over what is now one of our biggest "enemies" would have a self-destruct feature.
