I doubt a front page redesign will have much effect for most people who use youtube since most people don't enter youtube via the front page like people do with porn tubes.

On a side note, is anyone noticing that Google in general is becoming a "suggestion" engine more than a search engine, and not it a good way. When you search, it simply spits out what it feels you are "really" looking for not what you actually typed. Now with youtube, it takes some random video you watched a year ago and thinks you want to watch hundreds of similar videos.

Google is really starting to force you to see what they want and it's just so they have an easier job, not really to improve results.
There are millions of people who almost exclusively use YT and FB. That is why they're huge.
