It's not that I don't think people will use it; to me, it's merely a question of why I should be willing to pay significantly more than 'market price' for a product that doesn't have an intrinsically higher value than the products that compete with it.
For that matter, we've spent quite a bit of money on our existing sites; why is it a good idea to spend money on developing new domains, in an uncertain regulatory climate (IFFOR has yet to be heard from with respect to their "best practices" and other policies), rather than spend the same money on enhancing our existing products?
I'm very familiar with ICM's sales pitch and all the benefits they
claim .XXX offers, believe me. I just don't find their pitch particularly compelling, that's all.
If I were just coming into the online adult space, I might be more excited by the available names themselves, but IMO, your domain name is actually a pretty small part of the equation. Otherwise, Sex.com would be a titan of the industry, and not a long-running industry joke, don't you think?
