So I woke up Friday Morning during Cybernet.
I was lying in bed, having just woke up (1pm, typical tradeshow wakeup lol). I was just lying there staring at my lady...and something in me clicked. I have no idea what it was, but it was felt.
She felt me watching her and awoke. Right at that moment, I asked her to marry me. She giggled and kissed me good morning.
Ya see, we've already been making plans to do this. So her response was: "of course I'll marry you!"
I said, "No...you don't understand! Marry me today!"
"Are you serious?" asked Brandy(Muffin)? "Damn straight!" I said.
So I jumped up, grabbed a shower...and I had not packed black socks for the trip and told her I was off to the lobby gift shop for my socks.
In doing so, I decided to head for the networking area in the basement of the hotel to find RawAlex to ask him aboot Canadian legals surrounding marriage.
Turns out, no quick marriages in Montreal. You have to file papers first, wait 30 days...and THEN you can do the deed.
So, Fay (Sharpie) and Dave were standing in earshot, and heard my intentions. Fay and Dave told me I should do it with the Cybernet family. We could grab YNOTBOB and have him do the ceremony and file the paperwork when we return. Then Dave was off to see their hotel contact for assistance. I bought socks. Went back to the room no more than 30 mins after having left her wondering if I was serious or not.
She was just out of the shower, and I told her we were on. She looked at me and again asked if I was really serious?!?!
I told her I was indeed serious. She agreed and said we should throw caution to the wind and just do it! Then she jumped in my arms, bit my lip with overwhelming excitement.
The next thing you know, Paul Nash was helping me to find a ring and vows. I also tracked down a bouquet for her to carry.
Literally, we pulled together a quickie wedding in no time.
It was beautiful. Heartfelt and magical for both of us.
