Dam near every politician in any level of office runs for a reason, to accomplish something they want changed. It could be the bar close time in their city to the defense budget of the United States. They got about one or two things they actually give a shit about. Everything else they will take the highest bidder or stay close to their "party lines" to stay in office till they get their mission accomplished.

That's what I think anyway. One dude I know that never posts on forums but is in our industry said he will run for office someday and have a webcam up in his office and following him around 24/7, unless of course there was a national security issue. Full disclosure to the PEOPLE that put him in office. Isn't that what we all deserve? That would catch my attention and my vote.
