I"m sorry, but this is the silliest post of the thread.... It's makes you sound like one of those "Occupy" drones.
First of all, if you can afford a large yacht you wouldn't buy a piece of crap like a Lexus. They fall apart and lose value so fast it's crazy.
Secondly Lexus are certainly not that expensive that only .01% of people can buy one, and if your spouse needs a new car anyway, why not buy it at christmas time? I bought my wife a Volvo XC70 for Christmas last year. Her honda was getting old, she needed a new car, and it was a nice surprise for her to have it show up on Christmas day.
Thirdly, and most importantly if the ads didn't result in increased sales that resulted in a justifiable ROI, they wouldn't keep running them each year. So obviously there are plenty of people buying cars at Christmas, not just "elitist .01%, yacht, cristal types....
