Look for prices online from other brick and mortar stores like cleveland plasma (they have lcd too). Then, find a store in your local area that will price match. That's what I did and I saved a few hundred bucks when I bought my samsung plasma from BestBuy. Try to do that and purchase from a local shop in case you need to return it. If there is a problem you will get whacked with shipping charges and have to wait longer to get a working tv.

I know I can't post links to other forums here but do a search for audio/visual forums and see what experiences other people have had with the model you are interested in.

I prefer plasma, but that's my preference. I did a lot of research when I bought mine (a couple of years ago) and samsung was the tv to buy at that time. Then, samsung and panasonic were the top dogs. Just make sure you do as much research as you can. I did a lot before I bought mine and I'm very happy with it. It's a big purchase (spending a few grand on a tv). I expect to get 10 years out of mine, at least, it better fucking last that long considering the price.

Good luck with your purchase. I hope you get a good deal and are happy with your purchase. It's a good investment, especially if you like to watch a lot of movies.

Be sure to let us know how you make out.
