As an aside, how big of a concern is using the fireplace really going to be? It's natural gas but they like to burn logs... The dust from that is fine and gets into everything.. And I know the heat can't possibly be good for the television screen or internal components

How do you make a fireplace that doesn't radiate any heat into the room? They just build this room ten years ago, and they swear it has a heat box around it.. Maybe I could put some fireplace doors on that keep heat from coming into the room??

What about some fans mounted under the mantle blowing air downward?? I could pull the wood off of the underside and mount some fans into the pieces where they wouldn't show and could duct air in .. . Or I guess I could even use an air pump .. Or would it be better to mount fans in the ceiling blowing air down?? ? That might be easier. . There is a huge celing fan in the middle of the room - maybe that would solve the heat issue if I made it blow upward?

Maybe I could get away with putting another ceiling fan above the tv.. would sure look stupid, though, and the tv is going to be almost at the ceiling anyway so that really won't work

She really doesn't care how much it costs, but she's very cheap, if that makes sense
