When I was a performer it happened all the time. Dudes would say crap like "Well, new guys usually can't get it up so just so you know if you are having a tough time getting wood then I am going to have to come in and do it" Then they would sit there and do all sorts of annoying distracting stupid shit to try and make you fail... stopping and starting and playing "director", making annoyed little snorts if they couldn't "get the shot" which more often than not was just because they were shitty shooters and were just trying to create tension in hopes that I would fail. It was flat out ridiculous at times and I worked in the days before you could pop a boner pill to help. (all that was available was the needle in the dick with a shot of prolaxsin and I wasn't about to do that). That is why the male talent pool was even more limited back then.
I rarely had problems when I was shooting new guys because I shot couples and made them feel comfortable and didn't play those head trips. Simple remedy actually.

I can't speak for others, and I'm not being defensive (lol), but when I was shooting what I described above, me being on camera in any capacity was not a thought until after the guys went home, and the concept brought up by my wife and the female performer. I was actually nervous about how long I would last on film. But, I never had a desire to be a "performer," so I know that in my shoots I have never done anything to sabotage the regular joes. In fact, even if I wanted the guy to move more to open up the penetration shot, or whatever else, I would actually wait until the performers would break from the scene, rather than me stopping the action and disturbing the guy's hard-on.
