It has to go vertical in the TOP SHELF and DO NOT USE DETERGENT or heat dry setting ... and make sure it is dried thoroughly before plugging back in. (3-5 days should suffice)
We do our office (desktop) keyboards about once every 4 months now ... and usually replace them every second year anyways ...

People look at me like I'm batshit insane when I tell them to do this. I have a great keyboard that I love, but it gets dirty. So into the dishwasher it goes.
