He probably means the oil fields of Iraq.. When we invaded Iraq one of the first things We did was secure the oil fields and BUsh promised that Iraq's oil would pay for the war, not US tax payers..
Instead the oil deals were made with big oil and that was that..
Also in Afghanistan, after we placed Hamid Karzai as temporary leader prior to him being elected, president the first month he was in power he approved the gas/oil pipe line that Unicol had been trying to get a deal done for 20 something years. So to think big oil didn't have their hands in the cookie jar with these wars is a bit naive.
