I've been reading Beinsa Douno, and Steiner a lot lately. And things have become much more clearer to me in regards to the Bible especially. I've had several ahha moments to questions that have been on my mind a while.
What I've taken from it so far is that we, come here to work things out, finish things from old lives, start new ones. Learn and grow as a soul. Basically. Experiencing, learning. Walking upward.
Karma takes care of the rest.
God doesn't hate anybody, that's a human attribute assigned to him. He also doesn't sit on a throne with a scepter waving it around yelling like a beligerent idiot who must die because they don't believe in him. It's like gravity, it exists, we deal with it, we don't cuss God out because we fell down on our face.
Everything that happens is the result of what we say, think and do. In the past, now and in the future. People die a certain way because somewhere back there down the road they did something they shouldn't have. Negative and positive things happen in people's lives for the same reason. Nobody gets away with it.
