See, anybody with even a basic level of intelligence would do the math, which I assume is too complicated for you, and realize that it would cost more to buy than to rent for the period you're there for, and then take the smarter approach. It doesn't make you less of a person to rent a house. Not to anybody that matters. I suppose it does to you, but really you don't matter one little bit.

And just to apprise you of the market in Bermuda, you can't buy shit there for a mil.
And owning a shack in Canada doesn't help much. You rented it out because you can't afford it, you girl pays the rent in Bermuda, your mom pays for your current residence.
