Alonzo Miller wrote the melody (music)
so that settlement was basically MC hammer keeping 100% of his royalties and Alonzo Miller Splitting his.
If you were MC hammer and you got to avoid all the legal expense of a trial you were entitled to win, and it cost you nothing to do it (and avoid all the bad press of "ripping off" a legend)
how stupid would you have to be to not settle.
