You are right about Webview by default ditching the "app" to open clicked links into the browser. I've gone a little bit further than that. Everything remains within the webview, well accept for MP3, MP4 and 3GP...all those get played through the mediaplayer(default...they just get ignored). Softkeys manage back and forth within the webview browser. I was quite happy when I figured this out...on my own, without assistance from the old lady.

I feel ya, as an app-developer, there are a few problems I have found with keeping them in webviews it works for some things and doesnt for others, all applicable in situations.
the app fronteir is wide, i dont want to spam myself in your threads so ill bow out.
