start with being sure it has a ton of quality on there. keyword it title and <h1> tags. run it through copyscape to be sure no one has cloned it. that the words are unique. another good thing to do is 80/20 rule. 20 percent of your inbounds go to your subpages. Keep getting inbounds from sites that have inbounds. Don't over do it. just do it consistently over time. hit me up if you want to chat.
