They were living in New Zealand and NZ does have an extradition treaty with the US.

However, Under NZ extradition law, those arrested will face extradition only if:

i. the conduct as it occurred in the jurisdiction of New Zealand would have been an offence under New Zealand law; and

ii. the offence would have been punishable by 12 months imprisonment or more.

I'm no lawyer but I would doubt that what they have done is an offence under New Zealand law.
