Everyone knows if you threaten a cop with "anything" they'll most likely shoot you. They're all just cowboys and in our near future, people will start to shoot back. If that guys family tried to sue the city, they'd lose because that slight aggressive stance against the cop, would of been justifiable.

The irony? The cop who shot the guy gets a paid leave until the investigation is finished as this can last up to a month, or he can request a type of stress counseling for 3. Meaning, he can go on vacation for the next 4 months as that cities tax payers pay for it.

If someone is crazy enough to come at you with a deadly weapon, when you are holding a gun on them, and you have already used a taser on them, then you need to shoot. Only in the movies does it take one shot to put someone down. If you do not hit them in the heart or the head, then it takes on average 4 shots of .45, or 7 shots of 9mm to lower the blood pressure enough to take a determined attacker down. I'm not totally defending the cop here, but it's not a clear cut situation the other way either.
