My wifes friend was walking her golden lab (50+ lbs) by the canal next to southern Blvd in Palm Beach. They were both 10 feet from the water, a 14 1/2 foot gator (weighed 800 to 1000 pounds or so) bum rushed them and got the dog before they could run 2 feet. The gator was gone with dog in 3 seconds never to be seen again.
I told her that "She was lucky she had the dog with her or it could have been her."
She is traumatised to the nth degree to this very day.
Gators are nothin' to be fuckin' around with.
