As an amatuer who self submits to.. almost everywhere I can being in Australia- I wouldn't submit to your site. Because I also do graphic design and built my own few first websites, it looks very cheaply made and I wouldn't trust that I would get paid. Even if I did, I'm not sure I'd want to be on a site that looks like that as it would be bad for my image.
I don't think those criticisms are anything to take personally and it is constructive criticism so you can make your business better. Even a sleek premade wordpress template would probably look nicer than what you've got currently. It really doesn't look reliable to work for unfortunately.
If you do change the layout and the like, let me know. I know plenty of girls I work with on MFC and other places who might be interested in submitting.
