A friend of mine wanted to do the same as you and got burned by a couple of flaming pricks along the way so here is good advice.
FUCK 50%.
25% -30% is fair with a couple hundred thrown in to build out the original site. After the original build out, your trusted "partner" is going to work on your site for 30 minutes a week using a CMS program to cookie-cutter your updates.
These boards are full off opportunistic shit heads who will tell you that 50% of revenue is "standard" to be your online partner and allow you to just produce content while they "work their magic" from the online perspective. Avoid them at all costs. Ask to see established sites they have already had up and running and for membership login credentials so you can see inside the members area of their sites. (A lot of these guys hire pro graphic designers to make their tours and front pages on the outside nice and flashy, yet inside the members area will be what they are actually responsible for updating and it can be an abortion in contrast from what you see on the outside with what's on the inside). Discuss with them what you want to see and NEVER accept them telling you that they will only do it one way (their way) if you do not like the way they do it on their established sites. If you are the content producer, you are the artist, so you will always have final say over design, and I am positive you deserve better than some loser who claims to know everything about building sites when really all he/she can do is use a wordpress template and a cheap CMS program to cookie-cutter your members area.
And do NOT, (I will repeat) DO NOT use any prospective partners' payment processing account with your access being limited to a sub account to handle YOUR SITE'S financial dealings. Swallow the expense and pay for your own account with CCBill (or the like) and have control over the account. If you sign up with one of the vultures that lurk these boards and allow that person to own the top account with CCBill, giving you access to only a sub-account, the prick will be assigning (his/her) own affiliate numbers to sales that were not affiliate sales that he/she did not earn, stealing your money.
My best advice, start learning how to do it all yourself. My dear friend almost got out of the business entirely after getting burned by one unscrupulous shit stain, and I would hate to see you get burned as bad as he did.
