They also have stages set up along the course, with different bands playing. The location I was set up at had a reggae band. They sounded good and I could see that the runners obviously enjoyed them.
It is sad that you can not see the benefit of helping people you do not know, but some day you may grow up. Doubtful, but one can hope.

a for-profit national enterprise backed by venture capitalists, was getting $130,000 in subsidies, while the local race promoters have received little to no financial backing from the city or Pinellas County.
Rock ?n? Roll?s primary charity support doesn?t come in the form of checks, but ?allowing? charities to raise money via the race.
