There are political protests every day in the US that never result in any police activity, since they happen peacefully, according to local regulations, and don't deny other people the ability to move around, or enjoy public lands.
After Putin wins again in 3 months, he will be in power until 2016, and beyond. I have a feeling that your joke may turn somewhat sour in a couple of years....
