the movie was shit... it had potential to be a good story but they blew it. The death scenes were FAR FAR too realistic and emotional, which sounds good but we are talking about an adventure/survival movie here not a war epic so it just ends up being unpleasant without any reason for it. Then once things get rolling on the ground it goes from being adventure/survival to straight up horror movie with were wolf monsters coming out like Jason from every corner in this film. Jumping out at you like they were ninja assassins. I don't know about you but if you can't hear a 200 lbs wolf sneaking up on you in the woods then you don't deserve to survive...
The characters have potential, but they are hacked off too fast to develop so you don't care about them, which makes things pointless. Neeson did a great job with the material he was given but it tailed off towards the end like the writer just gave up at some point and just wrapped things up and left out the ending. (which is why so many people here are mentioning it).
they didn't even get the wolves right.. they hunt in packs for a reason, they flush out their prey and pounce on the first thing that falls down. Kill by brute force. These things were sneaking up on them like they were alley cats pouncing on a mouse.
The movie would have been much better if it was just 1h 10 mins of neeson fighting wolves but this movie couldn't even give us that..
