the closest thing is the concept of access shifting, the realization that demanding your only allowed to watch content in a specific place, is just as invalid as demanding that you watch content on a specific day and time (timeshifting vs re runs).

And that would only give it to you for free if the copyright abdicated the market by choosing not to provide it to a medium (ie not selling it via a medium).
