Language is a big problem for me because I live in a non English speaking country but want to produce ridiculously high quality porn for the English speaking market.
In high quality, well produced porn, dialogue is very important. I agree that there are guys who just turn the sound down and wank off to anything but they do not present every user. Sophisticated porn carries a story with it that should make the whole scene 10x more sexy.
A good example is girlfriendsfilms.com they put heavy emphasis on story and fore play, the scenes usually last 30min+ and the "action" is only 10 minutes of it the rest is 10 min of talk and 10 min of softcore action....this is where the artistic aspect in porn comes in....if you are able to tell a sexy story and make the viewer feel turned on without having to resort to stuff like cumming on her eyeballs or pissing on her.
Porn with a "story" represents the pinnacle of porn, but only if done right. The story will not be enjoyed by everybody, only true porn aficionados will know to enjoy the story and let the movie take them for a "ride"...
I will mention girlfriends films again because their story telling is so good that it makes average looking girls very sexy just because of the story.
An option that I will seriously have to consider is post production sound dubbing....
This is just my opinion about sound in porn, I know many people will wank of to just about anything and not care about the finer aspects of production or the story....
