London to Ilkly/Harrogate/York est 4 hours drive.

The Lake District from London est 6 hours drive.

Use a gps or you will get lost.

One thing to remeber if that some places are a pain to get to and make take longer than you think.

For instance Ilkly to The Lake District is only about 60 miles, but its via the countryside on roads with speed limits of 30mph and they are thin and windy. So its a pain to get to.

One tip is try to avoid peek traffick. About 8am to 9am in the morining and 4pm to 6pm afternoon the roads get very busy and in some towns you moving at a snail pace.

Also you may have a shock how expencive fuel is, so if your going to hire a car get a small one otherwise you will be paying a fortune for fuel.

Trains are expensive too.

Also remember we drive on the correct side of the road (left). The only reason you drive on the right is due to to france. they drove on the left but nepolian wanted to insult england so he changed it to the right.
