Just don't do blackhat bs or lots of backlinks/day or something similar and temporary bs that would raise some flags and you'll be fine.
As far as post length goes, smaller one's work great for me since I'm not writing some in-depth mainstream article. I make it longer than 'Hot girls fucking each other", but I don't go overboard spending an hour on a post like some people..
It's a game of getting the surfer to find and get interested in your blog then finding a way to get them to click the gallery or banner to buy before 'finishing'. That's all it is...
