Bottom line, you don't need to act like a douche bag, try to carry yourself as a professional. That means even when you are having issues with someone you don't have to act like an asshole, you don't need to threaten people, make personal attacks.
Calling out the company is one thing if you didn't get paid and leave it at that. I doubt very much Derek has anything to do with why you were paid late.
Just have some common decency, treat people how you expect to be treated.
This is business, there are always going to be issues, I have people trying to rip me off all the time but I don't post personal attacks in public about them. Sometimes I really want to drag people through the mud but it makes you as bad as the people you are getting screwed by.
