I think this is what people are referring to. If you're on your way to "fun times" at the shooting range or camping or somewhere, then sure, bring your guns. (I agree, they are much fun times
) If you're going out walking after dark in a rough neighbourhood, then sure, bring your CCW and pack your heat. But going to the grocery store in the middle of the day? Dropping kids off at school? Running to 7-11 for milk and bread? That's where I (and I suspect other people) have a hard time picturing a hidden firearm being necessary.
