Normally I would agree with the argument that other new sites will just pop up, but this situation is different. The people running these sites are shutting them down voluntarily. That tells me the people involved feel that the risk is not worth the money they were making and they are moving on to other things.
The people that got in early and made these piracy based web sites may be scum bags or criminals, but they were able to see the future and capitalize on it so you have to respect that and use their actions as a guide to where things are going in the future. If they are getting out now, it probably means they see major pirate sites as yesterdays news when it comes to making money.
