I studied up on ergonomics, spent the money on an awesome chair and built my office around it. Every aspect of how I work is ergonomically correct (or very close to it). That solved ALL my back problems. It doesn't even hurt now and before I felt like I had the back of a 70 year old man.
My friend is a drummer and he taught me some stretching exercises that he was taught to beat carpel tunnel syndrome in the wrists. I started doing those, and still do them, and my wrists are 100%. Prior to that, I could not twist off the lid on a jug of milk. That bad.
Sitting improperly at the computer for days on end did a number on me.
