Depends on how valuable the name and its branding is to you.
Are you going to spend the money to trademark the name. USPTO, EU Community and Madrid Protocol filing fees can approach $2,000+ ...
If you trademark you can now use immediate URS resolution for Domain Name Trademark Rights Protection.
However, as a "poor man's remedy" name registration in the "important" TLDs limits "cybersquatting" of a valued name
e.g.; get the .com, .net and .org of the valued name as a good start.
